Part-Time Theatre Instructor

Are you passionate about musical theatre and working with kids? Opening Night Theater is seeking a dedicated Theatre Instructor to join our after-school musical theatre enrichment program for elementary age students grades 2-5. Interested candidates should ideally have training and experience in vocal instruction and/or dance/choreography, in addition to experience in childcare, recreation, or education.

Position Details:
- Start Date: February 12th, 2025. *Applicants will be asked to participate in training and onsite rehearsal shadowing prior to this start date.
- End Date: May 8th, 2025 (with additional tech day on Friday, May 9th and show day Saturday, May 10th).
- Workdays: Wednesday afternoons fro 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM.
- Location: 23536 Catskill Ave. Carson, California. 90745.

Responsibilities:
- Support theatre directors in teaching choreography, vocal techniques and leading group vocal activities.​

- Guide students in blocking, acting, and stage presence.
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all participants.

Qualifications:
- Experience working with young children in a recreational or educational setting.
- Strong vocal skills and/or dance experience.

-Knowledge of/experience in musical theatre.
-Ability to foster a positive and engaging learning atmosphere.
-Must be willing to complete live scan and TB test prior to start date.

Compensation:
-This is a part-time position with no health insurance benefits. Dedicated team members may have additional opportunities for future programs/rehearsal hours.
